...happiness a lovely weekend doing things with my family, sunshine, sowing seeds, talking to someone who I wasn't sure about and finding out that we have so much in common
...sadness at bumping into a old colleague and hearing that she left because she was the victim of a witch hunt at our old place of work, the two colleagues responsible (senior managers) were later sacked
...creating the last few rows of my Shalom, the start of a cardigan, a plan for a new project
...learning about building space probes, Mercury, Venus, Pluto, dwarf planets, St George, fire and fire safety, brushing hair
...thinking about a canoe expedition
...wondering if the seeds I sowed over a week or so ago are going to germinate or should I sow some more
...hoping to get started on some presents for Alice
...enjoying this
...looking forward to starting a few new ideas
It sounds like a lovely weekend. I hope your seeds take off. I don't have much luck with them. We have small garden so we just buy plants these last few years.
ReplyDeleteI buy plants too when my seeds don't germinate and I have run out of time! Seed packets are often too many seeds for a small garden too aren't they? I often wonder what to do with left over seeds and find out about seed swaps too late!
DeleteI'm sorry to hear about what happened to your friend at work. I hear about things like this all too often. I'm intrigued to know what you're learning about brushing hair because I can always use guidance with my daughter's hair. I'm always afraid I'm damaging it when we brush or comb because it's very fine but there's a lot of it, so I never know quite what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI asked my hairdresser for tips on brushing Alice's hair when I last had my hair cut. Her hair is like you daughters fine and lots of it. She advised to never brush it wet, to brush the ends first and then the top and to invest in a good brush with long soft bristles. We have being doing the first two for a while but I only just got round to buying her her own brush. The 'learning' bit is that she is now mostly doing it herself :)
DeleteCan't wait to see your Shalom, I love mine :) And a canoe expedition, how exciting!
ReplyDeleteMy shalom is so close to being finished, just three more rows! I already have two, one with sleeves and one without I love them both!
Delete'Thinking about a canoe expedition' ... tell us more, please!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed both those books in the past, I must look them out again.
The canoe expedition......
DeleteIt is what Alice wants to do for her birthday, thinking a loch in Scotland..........the hard bit is choosing which one as there are so many beautiful remote ones!
