Beauty in the Ordinary

10 October 2015

The view from my bedroom early one morning this week.............

We have enjoyed reading and doing this together this week...........

Gathering Leaves

In Autumn the falling leaves
Run races on the paths,
Tumble head over heels
And catch against the tufts of grass.

I gather them in a heap
With a stiff brush and a rake,
Though they are light as feathers
And do their best to escape.

Then I splash right into the heap
And the leaves wash over me
With a long swishing sound
Like a wave of the sea

    1. It is I am lucky. Playing in the leaves is such fun we will have weeks of it to enjoy provided it stays dry when they are wet it is just not the same!

    1. It is especially the sun at this time of year, the vegetation is normally brownish but when the sun catches it as it rises it turns a beautiful golden colour. It only lasts for a few minutes so I love it when I open the curtains at that exact moment :)

    1. It is, I had a similar view from my bedroom as a child. I love to watch the subtle changes in the seasons from here. I often find my children on the bed just watching out the window. I am enjoying my weekend, hope you are too!

  6. What a beautiful view. It's just this past week that I've noticed the leaves beginning to fall. I have a Silver Birch in my front garden and already the drive is full of leaves.

    1. It's not that orangey colour every morning, just when the sun comes up, but the view is always there ;)

  10. That is a breathtaking view and must look quite different as the year and weather changes. By the by, do you read Soulemama or Beauty that Moves?

    1. Welcome Lucille :). It does look quite different during the year, often we cannot see it at all for the cloud and/or mist ;). I have heard of both those blogs but have never read either of them.
