Moments...

06 April 2015

...this week of...

...happiness sunshine, watching my children play, a lovely day out birdwatching as a family, sowing the first seeds of the year

...sadness my husband being ill for most of the week, the longest since I have known him

...creating a knitted cockerel and cat, rows on my shalom, the front of a cardigan, lots of picnic food

...reading The Making of the British Landscape by Francis Pryor, to the children Trouble at Rose Cottage by Emily Bearn, The Angel and the Dove by Sophie Piper and myths and legends about the stars

...learning about blood, refrigeration, cooling, insulation, constellations, star brightness, April Fools Day, Maunday Thursday, Good Friday, Normans, fractions, numbers

...thinking about my garden

...wondering about spirituality and beliefs

...hoping to get a few more presents made this week

...enjoying this

...looking forward to turning a few ideas into reality

    1. It's actually only a short drop it was the light that drew me to take the picture. It does look really dramatic from that angle! Hope you had a lovely Easter too :)

  5. I hope your husband is feeling better soon, what a shame to be unwell. Being in the garden just now is nice isn't it? I have been watching the little ones play and let the sun warm my back.

    1. I took the plunge and sowed some seeds earlier in the week. It was so cold I thought I was slightly mad but now then sun is out I am glad I did.

    1. I leant all their names as a child and I have, thankfully, never forgotten them. My children love watching them too which is great for me, I could while away hours.........

  8. Ohhh, that last line...YES!

We have been birdwatching, so many wonderful birds are starting to pass through our area as they move north for the summer. From now til about the end of May is amazing!

Hope your hubby feels better soon.

    1. We don't get many passage migrants here but I bet that is amazing to watch. We are eagerly awaiting the return of the birds that migrate south for winter, they take a while to reach us up here in the north of the UK. We have been watching two thrushes build a nest in the fork of tree at the end of our neighbours garden. My eldest has been watching them with the bino's from his bed ;)

  9. Hello, I've popped over here from Drifttwood. I think you've been having a similar week to me, thoughts wise. I've managed to turn a small idea into reality today - chopping down an elder that stunted my cutting patch last year.

Sorry to hear about your other half's illness.

Oh and I'd LOVE to see your knitted cockerel. Your sound prolific when it comes to yarncraft.

    1. Hello and welcome thank you for popping by. I will share all the knitted animals I have been making these past weeks when they are all made! I do love to knit but now the weather is warming up that may be put to one side as I venture out to take care of my garden ;)

  11. I can't wait to see the knitted cockerel. My kids still talk about the rooster we had to re-home last year (we can't have a rooster in the city, only hens), and I think they miss him a lot. I wonder if I could crochet one. I hope your husband is feeling better soon. Have a good week.

    1. It's a small one! But fun to make. I would think it would be very easy to crochet one.
