...is for Violin...

...my violin, bought for me by my very generous parents when I was a teenager.  It is an old instrument made in the late 1800s in France at a well known studio which made many instruments some of which now sell for telephone number amounts, I have no idea how much mine is worth and I have no desire to sell.  I started to learn to play at the age of five and had lessons until I finished school.  Since then I have played erratically but always had it with me wherever I lived.  I have recently had it repaired and now that my children are older I am going to join a local orchestra, my first rehearsal will be after half term..........I am both excited and nervous!

  2. A lovely instrument - enjoy yourself with the orchestra. My son has his first accordion lesson last night. He will be trying out various instruments this year before choosing one next year.

  7. I learnt an instrument when I was younger but I didn't keep it up. Occasionally when I pass the music shop in our town and see a Clarinet sitting there I do wonder whether I would still be able to get a note out of one or whether it would be just a lot of hot air. Good luck with the Orchestra I'm sure you will both enjoy and love it.

  12. Beautiful. I played until I was fourteen and then in a moment of teenage rebellion stopped going to my lessons. I have always regretted it. Good luck with the orchestra x #alphabetphoto

  15. What a beautiful instrument. I have a French cello from the same time period but haven't played it for years now. I have thought about selling it to free up some cash but I am quite sentimental about it. Enjoy the orchestra! x
