Knitting

06 March 2013

My knitting this week is really small.  I have been knitting up leaves and daffodils, to put on our seasonal table.  The leaves will be added to our tree which we were given for Christmas.  The daffodils are to put in a small vase next to the tree.  The daffodils are knitted in pieces and then sewn together, I have made one flower and have knitted a few petals and the trumpet of another.  The pattern for the leaves are from this book and using this pattern.  The daffodil I am making is loosely based on this pattern.

Sticking with the plant theme my reading this week has been gardening books and my garden journal.  I have spent more time in the garden this week as we have had such beautiful spring like sunshine.  I have bought seeds and seed potatoes this week and hope the weather continues to be warm so that I can start sewing seeds soon.

What have you been knitting or reading this week?

Joining in with Tami for this weeks work in progress and Ginny for this weeks knitting and reading.

  2. I had big plans to make daffs in time for St David's Day last Friday, but my plans forgot some vital things - like yellow yarn! Yours is looking lovely! I'm just sticking with real flowers :D

  4. I love knitted flowers and they're so great for the seasonal table because they don't wilt or need replacing.
We've lost the sunshine again, here - it's rather grey today. I hope you're having more luck.
